Maggie develops content with researchers and program administrators about their science activities to share with various audiences across multiple platforms (websites, newsletters, reports, plans, presentations).
Currently she is updating the Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) website and providing communication support to NGI administration, including updating their ten-year strategic plan. She is also providing evaluation and research support to replicate a pilot program that added STEM to the Army's JROTC summer camp program.
Maggie joined the NGI at Stennis Space Center in 2009, for communications, outreach, and strategic plan development. In 2010, she and several other NGI staff were contracted by the Gulf of Mexico Alliance for communications and outreach for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GoMRI), a ten-year $500 million research program investigating the effects of the BP oil spill on the environment and public health. From then to December 2020, she produced more than 600 articles for the GoMRI website and provided communications support to the GoMRI Chief Science Officer.
Maggie previously worked with the MSU Social Science Research Center Evaluation and Decision Support Laboratory, authoring or co-authoring 18 evaluation reports. She provided evaluation and research for NASA's Education Office at Stennis Space Center, the MS Department of Health, MS Delta Health Alliance, American Cancer Society, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, University of Southern Mississippi, and Marshall Space Flight Center. She also taught English at Saint Stanislaus high school.
Maggie received her M.B.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi and her B.A. in Secondary Education English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Recognitions include the MSU Centers and Institutes Research Support Award, the National Performance Review Hammer Award (NASA Stennis Space Center), and Outstanding Performance Award (Evaluation and Decision Support Laboratory, MSU Social Science Research Center).
