The Association for Unmanned Systems International's Magazine,
Unmanned Systems, highlights how Mississippi State's unmanned systems research is helping the state build its economy via air, ground and water.
Mississippi Governor Bryant is quoted as saying, ""If Google is talking about using UAVs to deliver packages, what will these ships deliver? What products will they carry on an unmanned vessels around the world? It will be limitless."
And the Governor still had to touch upon how the research is helping the state's agriculture and forestry professionals monitor their row crops and trees for nutrition, drought and bug infestation. The precision UAS technology benefits are three-fold: It saves them money because lower amounts of fertilizer and herbicide are applied, it is safer for the environment and it produces higher yields.
